ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we continue considering the lysogenic case but focus on modeling the pattern-generating impact of multiplicative noise (Spagnolo et al., 2002, 2004; Allen, 2003; Anishenko et al., 2003; Valenti et al., 2004, 2006; Sieber et al., 2007) on excitable dynamics, i.e., noise-induced effects on interacting phytoplankton and zooplankton with Holling type III grazing, in the excitable parameter interval, close to a Hopf bifurcation, in time and space. A review on processes and models of spatiotemporal ordering out of noise has been provided by Sague´s et al. (2007).
