ABSTRACT
This chapter is devoted to methods of calculation of the acoustic field in urban areas and the acoustical effects of reflecting, shielding and absorbing treatments. Several extensions of the CRTN method described in Chapter 12 (section 12.4) will be discussed together with some theoretical and numerical techniques for predicting the effects of absorbing building façades, road surface and tunnels on road traffic noise.
