ABSTRACT
In Chapter 5, cylindrical shells under uniform external pressure with particular reference to short, medium-long and long cylinders, boundary conditions, stepped wall thicknesses and ring stiffeners were discussed. This chapter deals with buckling under non-uniform external pressure, examples of which abound in civil/mechanical engineering, marine, ballistic and aerospace structures.
