ABSTRACT

All these neck and upper limb disorders can be caused by non-occupational factors. for example sports. leisure time activities or individual characteristics (malformations. genetic predisposing factors) (Figure 3.1). It is likely that all these disorders are caused by a combination of occupational, non-occupational and individual characteristics in the working population. Usually the epidemiological studies we have at hand, only consider one or two of these three likely routes to the disorder.
