ABSTRACT

Effect on the existing structures as a result of the various stages of excavation for and construction of deep metro structures, taking into consideration the influence of the soil type and the relative stiffness of the bracing system on the movements of walls, and the associated parametric studies, have been discussed in the previous two chapters. This chapter deals, briefly, with the aspects of potential interaction in respect of the following:

• Type of the existing structures • Effect of existing structures • Effect of future metro-related construction activity • Effect of future non-metro construction activity • Other considerations.
