Wtadyslaw Orlicz: His Life and Contributions to Mathematics

Wladyslaw Roman Orlicz was born on 24 May, 1903 in Okocim, a town in the southern Poland. He was the third son of Franciszek and Maria nee Rossknecht. Wladyslaw had four brothers — two of them were the victims of World Wars.
