ABSTRACT
Artemisinin: MW 280; artesunate: MW 404; artemether: MW 296; arteether: MW 314. Artemisinin is poorly soluble in water, whereas its derivatives are more soluble. Artemether and artesunate are sensitive to moisture and acidic conditions. An aqueous solution of sodium artesunate of pH 7-8 hydrolyses rapidly to dihydroartemisinin.
