ABSTRACT
In Chapter 4 many examples of applications of satellite data to various aspects of regional oceanographic research, monitoring the marine and coastal environments, and management of coastal zones in many seas were presented. These examples showed that satellite oceanography of the seas or 'regional satellite oceanography' is indeed becoming an effective instrument of marine research and operational oceanography.
