ABSTRACT
IT may surprise you to know (and is alarming to others, including the author) that not until April 15, 1993. did OSHA’s Confined Space Stan dard (29 CFR 1910.146) become effective in all states and territories where OSHA has jurisdiction. States (Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands included) with their own occupational safety and health plans were required to adopt a comparable standard within 6 months.
