ABSTRACT
In the past decade, fast orthogonal transforms have been widely used in areas such as data compression, pattern recognition and image reconstruction, interpola tion, linear filtering, and spectral analysis [l]-[4]. The suitability of unitary trans forms in each of the above applications depends on the properties of basis functions of transforms as well as on the existence of fast algorithms, including parallel ones.
