ABSTRACT

In this chapter, efficient methods of image reconstruction by projections are de scribed that are based on the concepts of the vector and paired representations of the image with respect to two-dimensional discrete Fourier transforms. The effi ciency of algorithms is expressed in the fact that they require a minimum number of operations of multiplication, or can be realized without such at all. The efficiency of algorithms is also expressed in the fact that they require the minimum number of projections to minimize the amount of data collected by radiation interaction with the object (or tissue, in medical imaging) for image reconstruction.
