Table 1.1 lists a number of conflict-of-interest situations likely to be encountered by quality engineers. The appropriate response to these and other situations can be determined by referring to the appropriate item in the ASQ code of ethics. Violations of the code of ethics by a quality professional may be brought before the ASQ Professional Ethics and Qualifications Committee. In extreme cases of ethics violations, ASQ membership privileges may be revoked.
