ABSTRACT
The questionnaire used in the interviews is given in Appendix 2. It discusses three sets of issues, the dam, life style, and health. The respondents were asked to answer the questions using one of the follow ing choices: agree, disagree, and do not know. All the questions were asked and answered in Arabic. Null hypotheses were tested for two of the questions (1 and 3) and chi-square analysis was used to detect statistical differences, if any, between the expected and the observed frequencies (Zar, 1996). More than 50% response was considered as the majority opinion. This method, conventionally accepted in social sciences, was used to analyze all other questions. The responses “I do not know” were not included in the analysis.
