ABSTRACT

The QSRMC regulations require that routine checks are made on the plant’s functioning, particularly weigh scales, and on the constituent materials used in concrete production to ensure that they have not changed significantly. Concrete is batched at the same mix proportions until a significant change is detected and then the proportions are adjusted appropriately. The routine checks on constituent materials provided information that may trigger a change in mix proportions, e.g. changes in aggregate grading. However, there are other changes that will only be detected when the concrete is tested for strength.
