Hypersensitivity reactions due to medicinal products and industrial as well as environmental chemicals are relatively common and often claimed to be increasingly more common. They are considered to account for the majority of adverse reactions involving the immune system in humans (Bernstein, 1997; DeShazo and Kemp, 1997).
