ABSTRACT
The use of industrial robots in manufacturing processes is becoming increasingly widespread, with even small and medium sized companies making use of this type of technology. While the use of automated manufacturing processes can, in many instances, be seen to have a positive effect on safety in the work environment, typically by removing the operator from the source of hazard, the use of this type of technology brings with it its own hazards and associated risks.
