ABSTRACT
The combination of structural steel and concrete in one bearing system is the basis of composite structures. This type of structure has been used in composite beams for many years. The functions of the individual materials are generally well defined. The concrete slab should be subjected mainly to compressive stresses, while the steel beam should be loaded by tensile stresses.
