Treatment is based on location of pain. Midline Pain is usually over the small intestine meridian. Needle the local and distal points corresponding to the painful area on the small intestine and urinary bladder meridians (Tai Yang): Du 14, Du 20, EX 21, LI 4, Lu 7, 51 3, 51 6, UB 10, UB 11, and UB 60. Lateral Pain occurring along the side of the neck usually involves the 5an-Jiao and Gallbladder meridians (shao yang): Du 14, Du 20, GB 20, GB 21, GB 34, GB 39, LI 4, SJ 5, Ah 5hi points.

Treatment points include LI 10, LI 16, Lu 7, 5] 15, SI 6, 51 11, UB 10, and UB 11.
