ABSTRACT

The block diagram of this IRM chip is shown in Fig. 1. In this study, the whole circuit except the IF 90° hybrid coupler has been successfully integrated on the MMIC chip. A 2.4 GHz RF 90° hybrid coupler, two identical down conversion mixers and a 2.2 GHz power divider are included in the IRM chip. The 200 MHz IF 90° hybrid coupler is not included in the IRM chip because that element values of the 200 MHz IF 90° hybrid coupler is too large to fit into the IRM chip. The RF signal is phase separated by RF 90° hybrid coupler and than respectively feed into two identical mixers as shown in Fig. 1. The 2.2 GHz LO signal is power divided by power divider and than respectively feed into two mixers, too. RF signal and image noise are automatically mixed and separated by the IF 90° hybrid coupler. The result of RF signal mixed with LO power source was taken out through IF2 port. The result of image noise mixed with LO power source was taken out through EF1 port.
