ABSTRACT
Abstract During regular maintenance inspections at Dungeness B Power Station, concerns were identified regarding the potential failure of a particular weld in the Superheater penetration assemblies which could result in an element being ejected from the pressure vessel wall, leading to:
• Rapid loss of [radioactive] reactor coolant, and • Damage to adjacent plant items.
