Formation of clusters and nanoparticles from a supersaturated vapor and selected properties

This chapter focuses on the physical methods commonly used to generate clusters and nanoparticles from a supersaturated vapor. The sizes of the nanoparticles made by these techniques cover the entire range from dimers to nanoparticles which are 100 nm in diameter. The term cluster, as used here, is mainly reserved for smaller nanoparticles containing fewer than 104 atoms or molecules.
