ABSTRACT

We show that just one sample for the P3ETA films exhibit a very fast and specific A.C. response to the exposition of different vapors. There are no noticeable signal response at higher frequency and this suggest the possibility that these phenomena are related with viscoelastic relaxation at low frequency, as it is well known for others class of polymers [4]. Different regions for the same P3ETA has similar relaxation response and this is a good indication about the homogeneity for the synthesized film. The broad range of the observed changes in the impedance spectrum of these films can be exploited for the development of electronic noses capable of operating as real time instruments.
