ABSTRACT

Workflow As the name suggests, the purpose of the Operations and Support workflow is to perform the activities required to successfully operate and support your software. During the Transition phase you will continue to develop operations and support plans, documents, and training manuals, reworking them based on the results of testing. During the Production phase your operations staff will keep your software running, performing necessary backups and batch jobs as needed, and your support staff will interact with your user community whom are working with your software. Without effective operations and support processes your soft­ ware will quickly become shelfware — it isn’t enough to simply build software effectively, you also have to run it effectively.
