ABSTRACT

Morecomplexligands,suchasporphyrins,havealsobeenincorporatedintoa mesoporousframework.Inonerecentstudy[35],meso-tetraphenylporphyrinwas incorporatedintoseveraldifferentmesoporousceramicsandthephotoionizationof theresultantadductswasexamined.TheMCM-41silica-stabilizedporphyrinradicalcationwasfoundtobelong-livedandstableat77K,anddecayingonly10% over48hatroomtemperature.Thephotoyieldofradicalcationwascorrelatedto thecompositionoftheceramicphase;aluminumincorporationreducedthephotoyield,whiletitaniumincorporationincreasedit.Lossofvibrationalfinestructurein theSoretbandsoftheadsorbedporphyrin'sUV-Visspectrawasattributedto interactionoftheporphyrin'sn-systemwiththesurfacesilanolsintheporewalls.
