ABSTRACT

Detailing rules for beams, beam-column joints and columns are included in Chapters 4, 5 and 6. Broadly, the volume of confinement reinforcement required increases with increase in ductility level, whereas the percentage of longitudinal steel (in beams and columns) increases with reduction of ductility level. The following general points should be noted:
