ABSTRACT
The hydraulic conductivity value (K) of the soil is obviously a very important characteristic in relation to drainage (especially in relation to subsurface drainage). The natural drainage of the soil and the scope for and costs of improved drainage all depend greatly upon it. The determination of the K value of the soil is thus an important aspect of almost any drainage investigation.
