ABSTRACT

Wound care is one of the most lucrative and rapidly expanding medical device market for both manufacturers and providers. Wound management has recently become more complex because of new insights into wound healing and increasing need to manage complete wounds outside the hospital. The wound healing process is classically defined as a series of continuous, sometimes overlapping, events. These are hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, epithelization, maturation, and remodeling of the scar tissue.
