ABSTRACT
The primary tool used for determining the cause of an accident is an accident investigation. Implemented as a stand-alone loss control tool, accident investigations will likely offer only limited results. However, combined with other management initiatives, accident investigations are one of the most effective methods of reducing work-related injuries. Therefore, accident investigations are an integral element of an effective injury prevention program.
