ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1, the basic assumptions and theory of probability are briefly reviewed together with the concepts of random variables and their distribution. In this chapter, we will discuss several important functions of random variables, which are also random variables. Because the basic idea to treat random variables is to investigate their distributions, similarly, to study the functions of random variables, we also need to consider the corresponding probability density function (PDF) and cumulative distribution function (CDF).
