ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we discuss systems whose behavior is described by giving a smooth sequence of values for the relevant parameters or functions. ese functions are called continuous functions, since the values in any interval of the independent variable vary smoothly and the number of values in any interval is innite. We can dene a value for a continuous function at any point on the independent-variable axis. In this chapter, we are going to focus on those continuous systems that have time as their single independent variable.
