ABSTRACT
In Chapter 1, we studied vectors and some of their applications, introducing significant geometric and algebraic concepts that will be generalized in this chapter and in later chapters.
In examining the linear independence or linear dependence of vectors, we saw the important role played by systems of linear equations and their solutions. In virtually every field of study to which linear algebra can be applied, systems of linear equations occur and their solutions are important.
