ABSTRACT

Let us study the reversed pseudo-Ericsson cycle, operated with air and used as a thermopump cycle, represented in the T -s diagram of Figure 13.22.

The air flowing through the cycle undergoes the following processes: 1-2: isothermal compression in the compressor cooled by external heat transfer

q−h with a hot source at temperature Th;

2-3: isobaric cooling in the heat exchanger, by reversible internal heat transfer qi with the air of the cycle;

3-4: isothermal expansion in a turbine heated by external heat transfer q+a with a cold source at the atmospheric temperature Ta;

4-1: Isobaric heating in the heat exchanger, by reversible internal heat transfer qi with the air of the cycle.
