ABSTRACT
Data may consist of counts of the number of units (people, institutions, towns, countries, items, etc.) with given attributes. It is often convenient to present these in one-, two-, three-or higher-dimensional tables usually referred to as one-way, two-way, three-way, etc., contingency tables. Each dimension, or way, corresponds to a classification into categories representing attributes.
