ABSTRACT

The STK Aircraft object models the flight of an aircraft using the simplistic Great Arc propagator as well as the sophisticated Aircraft Mission Modeler. As a point mass, it uses the center of gravity of an object; the air vehicles also model types of aircraft and their unique physics parameters. With a Spatial Temporal Information System like STK, we can evaluate the effects of variable geometry of flight characteristics on the point mass. We all know that a full-scale B-52 handles differently than an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or even a helicopter. STK can use enhanced performance models within the mission modeler of the software to represent flight paths and flight performance.
