ABSTRACT

It has already been shown that, during an acoustic disturbance, the acoustic pressure p, the velocity v of the particle in the medium, and density change ρ′ are all related. As a macroscopic phenomenon, acoustic vibration must satisfy fundamental physical laws, such as Newton’s second law and mass conservation law. For simplicity, the following assumptions are made to derive the general expression of the acoustic wave equation:

1. The medium is an ideal uid without viscosity, through which there is no energy loss during the acoustic wave propagation.
