ABSTRACT
Bupropion is a medication approved for management of depression in 1985, for smoking cessation in 1997, and for management of seasonal affective disorder in 2006. Weight loss is a known side effect of bupropion when used for these conditions, and weight loss has been demonstrated using higher doses than typically prescribed for depression and using a sustained release formulation of bupropion [1-3].
