ABSTRACT
Any time and anywhere, connectivity, which enables seamless communication, is an important catalyst for successful business and scientific solutions. There is an increasing demand for this kind of connectivity, but there is also growing concern about the privacy of information in such networks. As this demand is being met, information security and privacy are an evident challenge that must be effectively tackled. The Remote Access IPsec VPN (Virtual Private Network) is increasingly proving to be the most effective solution for data privacy on the Internet. This chapter provides a comprehensive explanation of the Remote Access IPsec VPN security solution that allows remote users behind a remote VPN client to access data and network resources of a central site securely through a VPN tunnel. Being an Internet-based technology, it offers a
scalable, low-cost, anywhere and any time solution for small, medium, and large businesses.
