ABSTRACT
So medical studies often suffer from some type of selection, which then may imply some selection bias. For example, it is actually very difficult to estimate the prevalence of many diseases in the general population, as this requires a sample based on a selection mechanism which does not involve the disease status nor any risk factor for the disease.
