ABSTRACT

A diagram model is a pictorial representation of a system of equations used to model a real-world system. The blocks represent source-signal generators, mathematical operations, subsystems, and computed output and are connected by connections that propagate signals, i.e., data values, from one block to the next. Mathematical operation blocks operate on input signal values, which then result in the generation of an output signal to be conveyed along the output connection to another block. In order to execute a model drawn on the palette, it Ÿrst must be validated: this involves checking the model and its connectivity to allow the propagating of signals along connections linking the model blocks together.
