ABSTRACT

True Security Up to this point we have used the term “true security” freely within the book to help support some of the foundation concepts we have introduced thus far. Our goal was to support the concepts we have presented while not bombarding the reader with too many concepts at a time. With that said, we also spent a large portion of the last chapter talking about the dangers of not providing defi nitions around security concepts. After all, if you do a GoogleTM search on the term “true security,” you will see varying topics presented ranging from approaches to social security to achieving energy independence. So, the time has come for us to take our own advice and provide our defi nition of true security. We think it is important to get us all on the same page since your perception of true security may or may not coincide with ours. So, what is true security?
