ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The environmental atmosphere damages the construction building materials as mortars, steel and concrete; the problem must be observed since different points of view: not only the environmental data, also the building materials and the new durability codes. In Michoacan State we have different environments: urban dry, wet and marine; and industrial atmosphere. We quantified the environmental data for the last 30 years and we listed the damages in the buildings to find a correlation between pollutants, number of vehicles, population, rain, radiation, temperature, dominant winds, speed of the winds, localization of the industries, anthropogenic emissions, etc. With the mentioned data it was possible to simulate the atmospherically pollutant dispersion and to predict where the acute damages are going to be present. The city cases studied in this research were: Lazaro Cárdenas (industrial port), Morelia (capital of Michoacan), Uruapan (wet urban atmosphere) and Zitacuaro (dry non industrial and urban environment).
