ABSTRACT

Step 1. The patient is positioned so as to allow access to the primary site and any

lymph node basins harboring a sentinel node. This sometimes requires the use o f a beanbag and the lateral decubitus position. Prior to prepping, 1-3 ml of 1% isosulfan blue dye is injected sterilely in the area around the primary lesion or biopsy scar. The patient is then prepped and draped in the usual sterile fashion.
