ABSTRACT
Procedure Step 1. The patient is placed in the supine position with arms tucked at the sides.
A Foley catheter is inserted into the bladder. The surgeon stands on the side opposite the hernia. Monitor(s) are placed at the foot of the table. The skin incision is placed just inferior to the umbilicus and dissection is carried down to the rectus sheath.
