ABSTRACT

Indications Transduodenal sphincteroplasty is indicated for the treatment of sphincter ste

nosis or dysfunction in selected cases. It is also indicated in the presence of multiple common duct stones in a nondilated system or to remove an impacted stone at the ampulla of Vater that is not removable by any other means. At present, many such patients are treated endoscopically yet expertise can be center-dependent.
