ABSTRACT

Phytochemicals, such as indole-3-carbinol and brassinin, that are formed from the hydrolysis of indoleglucosinolates in Brassica vegetables.1

The chemoprotective properties of indole-3-carbinol include the  induction of phase II enzymes.2 In animal studies, indole-3-carbinol exhibited chemopreventive properties.3,4 Laboratory research found that brassinin demonstrated antiproliferative effects against cancer in both in vivo and in vitro models.5
