ABSTRACT
This chapter covers laryngo-pharyngeal (silent or airway) reflux and globus syndrome (globus pharyngeus or globus pharyngis), Eagle syndrome, pemphigus and pemphigoid and Castleman disease. Many other benign conditions that affect the pharynx are covered in other chapters, including
benign pharyngeal tumours, infections, dysphagia, pharyngeal pouch, snoring, obstructive sleep apnoea in both adults and children and choanal atresia.
