ABSTRACT

SGS is strictly defined as stenosis within the laryngeal subglottis, that is, below the vocal folds and above the trachea. This narrow definition overlooks the fact that most cases of SGS will also involve a degree of narrowing at the glottic and tracheal level, and might more accurately be termed laryngo-tracheal stensosis. All aspects must be recognized and corrected to achieve a satisfactory outcome for the patient.
