ABSTRACT
Clinical trial results are communicated to the medical community primarily in the form of publications in the medical literature. Appropriate reporting of clinical trial results is crucial for safe and effective use of an intervention, and thus for ensuring optimal patient care. However, appropriate reporting is challenging, and poor reporting practices are very common. Reporting the results of clinical trials requires careful thought. The keys to appropriate reporting of clinical trials are honesty and transparency.
