ABSTRACT

Additive color systems paint with light. Such systems includemonitors, flat-panel displays (LCD, LED, plasma), and digi-tal projectors. The traditional additive color reproduction industry is television, though graphics displayed on a monitor may be more familiar to many readers of this book. This is the third of five chapters on color reproduction. It describes the basic principles common to additive color systems, some technology-specific details, and some practical information about characterizing them to a device-independent color standard.
