ABSTRACT
It was exactly thirty years ago that I met Adalberto Orsatti. In the academic year 1967–68,1 was a student in my fourth year of the Corso di Laurea in Mathematics at University of Padova when I took a course in Topology offered by Professor Orsatti. This was my first mathematics course that had a great impression on me. As a student, more skilled in sport activities than in studying mathematics, I started to learn how to enjoy the beauty and clarity of mathematical ideas and to master the techniques, as presented by Orsatti. It was a fascinating experience which greatly influenced my mathematical future.
